This interview was made with the intention of capturing oral history from Geelong’s Golden Era of dance bands. It focuses on many of the bands and venues that made up the live music scene during the late 1950’s 1960’s and into the 1970’s. Local musical legends Darryl Yelland (guitarist) and Charles Smith (bass/guitarist) were chosen due to their high profile as active musicians, particularly during that period.
