DISPLAYING YOUR BAND’S PHOTOGRAPH
When completing your Band’s Biography you will have the option to submit a single image to be used for the thumbnail on the Band card displayed on the Bands page and for the header image for the band bio page. When selection a photograph please consider the following;
- the image file should be either JPG or PNG format; and,
- the photo should be between 1024 and 2046 pixels (px) wide.
When we receive your photo we will produce two images;
- a thumbnail – used on the Band card that will be reduced and cropped to 400 px wide by 225 px high; and,
- a header image – resized to 1535 px wide.
If you can provide a photo at the higher end of the above recommend width the image will present with a higher resolution after we process it. When presenting a photograph there is a file size limit so make sure you select a “screen” resolution image. If you try to upload a high resolution image it will probably be rejected as being too large.
LINKING TO A PHOTO GALLERY
There are many different options for you to create and publish band photos (Facebook, Google Images, Photobucket, Pixpa etc.) but the easiest by a long way would be Facebook. We recommend that you consider using a Facebook gallery for your band photos and to create an account for your band’s use ONLY so that the images are not mixed in with other non-band related content.

- click here for a tutorial on creating a Photo Album on your Facebook account.
Once you have decided on which product you are using to store your photos they will all have a landing page with an image carousel. If you load this page, the URL will be displayed in your browser’s search bar. All you need to do is copy this URL and paste it into our link field on the bio page.
LINKING TO AN AUDIO AND/OR AUDIO VISUAL GALLERY
Once again, the options for storing and sharing Audio and/or Audio Visual content are many (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, BandCamp etc.). It’s really up to you which you wish to use, but our recommendation would be to keep it simple and tap into the Facebook Video gallery. It works the same as the photo gallery discussed above and you can use the tutorials above to setup your Facebook account and create your video album.
Facebook allows the uploading of audio and audio visual content. When you have loaded your photos and any audio/audio visual content, just copy the URL for each landing page to the appropriate link field on the band bio page.
HOW WILL THIS WORK?
Once you’ve set up your band’s bio, users will be able to search for your band and view the main bio page. There are two buttons on the page for photos and audio visual. If you have added a link to either or both, if the user clicks one of the buttons a new tab will be opened in the browser and the link will load the landing page carousel.
