Formed in September 1979 by Meade, Blic and Turner as The Agents. Initially had a basic repertoire of English punk covers (Sex Pistols, Clash, Wire, Stiff Little Fingers, Only Ones) but began to branch over the next 18 months into spikey, new wave originals.
The band, who along with The Orphans was the entirety of the punk scene at that time, managed to carve out semi-regular support gigs at most of the venues at the time that were open to this new music. Original guitarist Glen and bassist Dave Caldow left to form Spiral Scratch. Dave Knee left to join The Propellers.
They were replaced by Paul Ryan (ex The Receivers) and Les Butrims (also from The Receivers). A support with Paul Kelly at The Golf View led to 3 gigs at Hearts in Carlton. Andy went onto Psych Out, Behind The Magnolia Curtain and The Sunset Strip.
Under the Sunset Strip moniker Andy and Sunsets founder, Warwick Brown, continue to record and release music. Paul went onto a variety of solo and band projects (Deep Space, Free Energy Device and Little Raven) and also joined The Sunset Strip on bass and guitar at various times in 80s-90s. Les went on to The Propellers and The Sunset Strip
