History
The band formed the early 1970’s. One of the first gigs was with the Levis at the Geelong Prison at a charity concert attended by the prisoners.

The band was heard at this concert by the late Peter Fusea who then became the band’s manager. Grey Haze played at numerous venues in the Geelong area including all of the major reception houses such as The Silver Horse Shoe, Sladen House, Berkley Lodge, etc.

Grey Haze were extremely popular in the Geelong area and beyond and often played 3 gigs a week. The band also was popular as a backing band for artists such as Normie Rowe, Bill and Boyd, Ron Lees, Margaret Nesbitt, Frankie Davidson, Ugly Dave Grey and Mike Preston.

They were also a regular feature at The Grovedale Hotel particularly on a Sunday night and also played at other pubs in the Geelong area. Grey Haze performed on the TV Show New Faces that resulted in an invitation to perform in Ballarat on BTV’s Fred Fargo’s variety show.

In a Geelong Advertiser article in the 1970’s (undated) by ‘Music Man’ Mr Cool, he wrote -‘Over the past year or two Grey Haze have established themselves as one of Geelong’s most popular and sought after cabaret groups.’
